Who is David Menez?
David Menez is not a regular jeweler. Since 2009 we have been designing customized jewelry on demand. We are convinced that a jewel is like a suit that has to fit perfectly and that designs should be personal. Just like a hand made suit, the experience of wearing it is totally different from the one made in a factory, even how expensive it may be.
I started my career in the Antwerp diamond area, working for a large diamond multinational, where I learned all about the diamond trade. That experience is helping me now, to create unique and amazing diamond jewelry that give much more satisfaction to my clients and myself.
Since we like to think out of the box, we often get questions from companies, governments and institutions to create something for them that includes diamonds.
That is how we came in contact with the Turkish Consulate General in Antwerp.
The Tulip
To mark the presence of Turkey as a partner country in Jumping Antwerp (Horse jumping), I have created a beautiful 18 carat golden tulip, encrusted with sapphires, rubies and diamonds donated for this occasion by Simply Sparkling.
The tulip itself refers to the ancient times of Turkey where this popular flower was all over the Ottoman Palaces. Later it was exported to Europe where it was a trade commodity.
The jewel, that we have created is today a national symbol of Turkey and it will be raffled among the visitors of Jumping Antwerp to support the victims of the earthquake in the Van province of Turkey. The amount will be sent to Turkey with the help of DMEDD (The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spouses Solidarity Association of Turkey). Tickets are available on the scene and will be offered to you by our team.
